The Board of Management is a corporate body under Section 14 of the Education Act (1998). The Patron Body (Educate Together) appoints the Board of Management. Once appointed, the Board acts for the good of the school and manages and directs the school on behalf of the Trustees. All members of the Board must take responsibility for decisions of the Board, even if a vote has been taken. Board Members bring their own points of view to the Board, but they are not there to act on behalf of a particular constituency. The Board is bound by the Education Act and the Articles of Association (see below) agreed by the Patron Body.
