When: Starting 17th of September, every Thursday for 6 weeks (17th and the 24th of September
1st, 8th, 15th and 22nd October)

Time : 9:30am -12pm
The Empowering Parents Programme is an advocacy and capacity building programme for the parents of disabled children and young people. It is 6 weeks in duration, it is in person and each session lasts 2.5 hours.
The course will:
- Show parents new ways of thinking about their child’s disability, which will help them to see new possibilities and ways of doing things
- Tell parents about their child’s rights, and how to achieve them
- Explain who can help parents to get what you need from public services and the local community
- Help parents to build confidence and keep their spirits up!

Who: Guest Speaker Dr. Patrick Randall
Dr Patrick Randall is a Clinical & Forensic Psychologist with 30 years of experience. He has worked extensively with the courts in Ireland and provided training to doctoral students in psychology in Trinity & UCD. He is co-chair of the division of Forensic Psychology in the Psychological Society of Ireland. He provides regular clinical input to the HSE and other organisations on harmful sexual behaviour, with neurodiverse populations and those with disabilities.
